SHARPSVILLE MAN ARRESTED AFTER MOTORCYCLE PURSUIT

A Sharpsville man was arrested early Saturday after a short pursuit in Cass and Howard counties. Around 12:27 am on August 15, Cass County deputies were patrolling US 35 S near CR 1350 S when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. The Sheriff's Department says the motorcycle fled from the officers at speeds in excess of 100 mph. 24 year old Blake Bucher of Sharpsville crashed just inside Howard County and sustained a laceration to his head and some other minor abrasions. He was treated at Logansport Memorial Hospital and then transported to the Cass County Jail. Bucher was charged with resisting law enforcement with a motor vehicle, driving while suspended, operating a motorcycle with out a motorcycle endorsement, exceeding the posted speed limit and reckless driving. The sheriff's department says he is also suspected to have been driving under the influence of alcohol -- operating while intoxicated charges are pending.
