DOWNTOWN SENIOR HOUSING IN THE WORKS

A developer from Cincinnati plans to renovate the former Captain Logan hotel in downtown Logansport, with a $9 million investment that will create 41 income-based apartments for those age 55 and over. Like the McKinley School Apartments, the project is contingent upon receipt of tax credits from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, which Episcopal Retirement Homes Affordable Living LLC plans to apply for in November. Awards are usually announced in February. The Logansport City Council approved a ten year tax abatement totaling $350,000 and beginning no later than March 2018 at their meeting last night.
