KOKOMO WOMEN ARRESTED ON CASS WARRANTS

An Oct. 19 burglary at a Walton residence has led to the arrest of two Kokomo women. The Cass County Sheriff's Department says 29 year old Kayla Ously of Kokomo and 22 year old Samantha Mayer of Kokomo were arrested last week after an investigation by Detective Tom Heflin of the Cass County Sheriff's Department, along with the Kokomo Police Department.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department says Heflin had tracked both suspects to Illinois, where they are under investigation by Illinois authorities for auto theft and had allegedly fled back to Indiana, to the Anderson area. Heflin notified Kokomo Police that the duo was headed back to Indiana. He says they were located by Kokomo Police after officers observed the stolen vehicle at Jay and Markland on Nov. 18.

The two were arrested on Cass County warrants of failure to appear for a June 2015 case of ato theft and were charged by Kokomo police for possession of stolen property and possession of heroin.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department says the case remains under investigation at this time and more charges are expected.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Sgt. Tom Heflin of the Cass County Sheriff's Department at 574-753-0459.
