VETERANS DAY ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED

Tomorrow is Veterans Day and several events honoring Veterans are scheduled locally.

The Cass County Veterans Council will host the annual Cass County Veterans Day Parade beginning at 10 a.m. at the Cass County Government Building on 4th Street. Kimberly Clark with the Twin Rivers Blue Star Mothers group says all area veterans are welcome to participate.

Lineup for the parade begins at 9:30. There will be a brief ceremony at 10 a.m. on 4th Street, then the parade will travel to the Logansport City Building where another ceremony will begin around 11 a.m.

Area schools will also be holding Veterans Day programs and many businesses offer discounts and special offers. Martin’s Super Markets will offer their 6th annual Veterans Day Honor Meal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow. The American Legion on Burlington Avenue will offer a free meal for Veterans from 5-8 p.m., followed by a DJ from 7-9 p.m. Veterans eat free and guests are $7.

Many businesses and government offices will be closed tomorrow in observance of the holiday, including Logansport city offices, LMU, Cass County Government and the Eel Township Trustee’s Office. Trash and recycling pickup in Logansport will remain on the regular schedule.

In Howard County, Military Days run through Nov. 16 and more than 100 area businesses have pledged support to this campaign by offering discounts and services to veterans and active duty military members and families during this event. Visit militaryfoundation.org for more.
