Sims Named Bicentennial Citizen

A Logansport insurance agent who recently joined his wife and family in donating to a local park project and making it a reality has received a special award. Dick Sims, an avid runner, has been a familiar face on local roads and trails for decades. Last Friday, he and his wife, Ann, joined their son Steve and daughter-in- law Heidi in donating $60,000 for the Interconnector Trail. It was dedicated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning at Huston Park. The trail connects Logansport’s newest park with the Hersey Nature Preserve east of Logansport Memorial Hospital, the River Bluff Trail, Cole Bridge, Riverside Park and Eel River Run. Sims and other recipients are being recognized throughout Indiana’s bicentennial year for their work statewide, nationwide or worldwide.
