Cincinnati Developer Has More Housing Plans For Logansport

A Logansport developer who is renovating a building downtown now wants to expand his plans. Cincinnati-based Miller-Valentine Group recently bought Logan Square at 3rd and Broadway, with plans to revamp the building into apartments downtown. At this week’s city council meeting, a spokesperson for the builder said the company now wants to invest in 5 acres that the city owns near Walmart, as well as lots recently abandoned. Miller-Valentine says it would total about 12-million dollars in economic investment into the local economy. But there is a catch. The entire program is contingent on the company getting money from tax credits from the state. The company applied to the program and says it will know in March whether or not it is approved. More discussion will take place at the Logansport Board of Zoning Appeals meeting on Monday.
