Judge Rules Woman Who Self-Aborted Fetus Should Be Released From Prison
A judge says an Indiana woman whose feticide conviction for a self-induced abortion was overturned should be released from prison immediately after she was resentenced to less time than she already has served behind bars. An Indiana Department of Corrections spokesman said late Wednesday that officials were reviewing the situation and that Purvi Patel’s release from prison is possible in the “immediate future.”
