2 INJURED IN WRECK ON 24

A two vehicle crash at US 24 and the Tyson Exchange injured two people Friday morning. A silver Chevy van driven by 69 year old Leroy E. Stout of Star City was traveling south on US 24 when a Volkswagen passenger car driven by 49 year old Mohammed Jasim Al-Asadi of South Bend, which was traveling west on the US 24 Collector Distributor Ramp attempted to cross US 24 and continue south on SR 25. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says Al-Asadi’s vehicle was struck broadside by Stout’s vehicle.Sheriff Randy Pryor said both drivers were taken by ambulance to Logansport Memorial Hospital. Al-Asadi sustained serious head and neck injuries; Stout complained of back and leg pain. Both vehicles were a total loss. Al-Asadi was cited for failure to yield the right of way at the intersection.
