Logansport Police arrested three people on felony charges late last week. Detectives with LPD’s criminal investigation division received information Thursday afternoon regarding a wanted person. 21 year old Benjamin Mattox was wanted in connection with a New Year’s Day robbery at the Manor Motel in Logansport and also had active warrants with full extradition orders out of Wisconsin. Police say he was located at a residence at 1900 E. Market Street and arrested on Cass County warrants for robbery and battery, theft and an out of state warrant through Wisconsin. Police say upon further investigation at the residence, narcotics were found. 30 year old Alexander Knapp and 27 year old Tawny Pugh of Logansport were arrested on drug charges including possession of meth and heroin and dealing marijuana.
Another arrest was also made Thursday in relation to a fire last Tuesday at 230 Coles Street in Logansport. Detectives from the Logansport Police Department’s Narcotic Division received information from a concerned citizen about a possible location for 33 year old Michael G. Sutherland of Logansport, who had an active warrant for several charges including dealing methamphetamine from investigation into the fire that occurred last week at the residence. Around 7 p.m. Thursday, he was located at an address on Pine Court and taken into custody. Sutherland faces additional charges of possession of meth, marijuana and paraphernalia.
