KNOX MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES IN LOGANSPORT
Around 9:15 Friday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Department was called to a residence in the 6800 block of Georgetown Road in reference to a suspicious man with a small child on an enclosed front porch. Sheriff Randy Pryor says the homeowner came home and found 37-year-old David W. Campbell of Knox on his porch with the child. The homeowner did not recognize Campbell or the child. After further investigation, authorities allege that Campbell was in an intoxicated state and entered the residence with the child. Pryor says a small white bag containing meth was located near the suspect and authorities believe Campbell had tried to ingest some by mouth before deputies arrived at the scene. Deputies located several baggies containing a white powdery substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Campbell had been watching the child for another individual at a nearby residence. Both Campbell and the child were taken to Logansport Memorial Hospital. Campbell was arrested for burglary, residential entry, dealing and possession of meth, battery and neglect of a dependent and taken to the Cass County Jail. Investigation is continuing by the Sheriff’s Department and Child Protection Services.
