AIRPORT HOSTING ANNUAL EVENT

The Logansport Cass County Airport is inviting people to visit during its annual open house.

The event was originally scheduled for Saturday but will now take place Sunday, June 28.
" From 10-5 it’s our annual Airport Awareness Fly-In/Drive-In so we want everybody to come out and get an opp to get a little closer to aviation and see what the airport’s all about."Tim Dalton, the airport manager, explains what will be happening.

The morning will kick off with a skydiving demonstration by Air Indiana that will be repeated a couple of times throughout the day.

"We’ll have a few aircraft that are on static display so you can take a look at those. Also several aircraft that will be providing rides throughout the day."

There’s no charge to attend the Logansport- Cass County Airport’s annual fly-in/drive-in, but there is a cost to participate in some of the activities.

"Plane rides and food will have a charge. On the EAA Chapter airplanes, those are $15 per person. We do have one that is a T34 Mentor that was $35. The Huey is $100. I haven’t confirmed the price but the AT6 Texan last year was $150 which is well worth it."

Tim Dalton says the airport is the first place many visitors to Logansport stop and talks about the facility’s annual traffic..

“To me the airport is the front door ot our community for a lot of people .We see about 10 to 12,000 come through a year.
