The Cass County Community Foundation is pleased to announce an even larger pool of community grant funds will be available to Cass County non-profits for the 2015 Competitive Community Grant process. CCCF President Deanna Crispen explains.
“Each year we try to have a competitive grant cycle. Last year we had $93,000 t hat we were able to award to non-profits to Cass County. This year our board is very excited to announce that we have set out a pool of $100,000. In 2004, 2005, there was $19,000 available so you can tell from that how much our funds have grown that we have $100,000 available for our non-profits in Cass County."
This year marks the 10th consecutive year that the Foundation has increased the amount available.
Non-profit, 501(c) (3) organizations serving Cass County are encouraged to apply for grants designed for projects which benefit the community and improve the quality of life in Cass County. A FREE grant-writing workshop will be held later this month.
“June 25, at 5 o’clock. It’ll be in our new office which is exciting to have it at our place. And at that time, we’ll go through the application, share some of the places where people have trouble, and you have to be a 501(c) 3 organization or partnering with a 501(c)3 organization.
Those planning to attend must call CCCF at 574-722-2200 for reservations.
Grant applications may be picked up at the CCCF office, 729 E. Market Street, downtown Logansport, or downloaded from the Foundation website (www.casscountycf.org) after the workshop. The deadline to return completed grant applications is by 5:00p.m. on July 30, 2015. For information about the application process, contact the CCCF office at 574-722-2200.
The community foundation also has applications available for the “Back Home Again In Indiana” scholarship. This $500-$1000 scholarship is open only to Cass County’s non-traditional students, such as those who are entering or returning to college after raising a family or pursuing a career. The deadline for applications for the “Back Home Again in Indiana” scholarship is July 1, 2015 and the form is available in the CCCF office, 729 E. Market Street, Logansport and on the website, www.casscountycf.org. Recipients will be announced at the Foundation’s Scholarship Reception and Send-Off Party for recent graduates on August 4th.
A $100,000 match is also still available to fund parts of the Tower Park Pool project.
“A month or so ago, the community foundation announced a match opportunity for the pool. A lot of folks I think didn’t understand that even though the city had funded $400,000, there was still private money that needed to be raised to complete it as it was designed with the water slide and splash pad and the chairs and things, and It’s been slow going. I don’t know whether it’s a busy time with folks with graduations and weddings and school being out, but we still need some help with this project, or our pool, as it was envisioned, isn’t going to happen.”
Donations can be made on the CCCF website, or call the Cass County Community Foundation at 574-722-2200.
