PARK BOARD APPOINTMENTS MADE

The director of the Logansport Housing Authority has resigned. Rocky Buffum has accepted a position with the Indiana State Department of Health. Authority President Chad Higgins said his decision to leave was not because of the change in city administrations this year.

The authority board has appointed Buffum’s assistant, Logansport native Molly McBride, as the acting director.

Mayor Dave Kitchell also has announced three appointments to the Logansport Parks and Recreation Board. Former school board member Lynne Ness, a Republican who previously served as a school board appointment to the parks board, will serve the remainder of Buffum’s unexpired term. Democrat Duane Ullom, a Lewis Cass High School science teacher, will be on the board. Republican Beth Myers, who previously served on the board, also has been named to the board for another term.

The Logansport School Board will appoint a member to the parks board to replace Jeff Smith, who resigned earlier this month due to a conflict of interest.
