The Logansport High School Speech Team competed at the Indiana High School Forensic Association’s state tournament on Saturday at Fishers High School, where the state's top 48 in each event vied for a top spot. LHS junior Jake Hoover was named the Original Oratory 2016 State Champion. He received 1st place ranks from 5 of the 7 final round judges. Hoover is the first State Speech Champion in more than 14 years.
Senior TJ Caroway placed 7th in Radio Broadcasting, narrowly missing the cutoff for Final rounds by 1 point.
Caroway and Hoover's combined successful performances at the State Meet earned Logansport the 9th place team ranking in the 2A division of the IHSFA.
