Yesterday, Logansport city officials heard their first update on the review of proposals for a new purchased power agreement.
Mayor Dave Kitchell, Utility Service Board President Dan Slusser, City Council President Teresa Popejoy and Utility Superintendent Paul Hartman discussed the progress of the evaluation process in a conference call with representatives of Lewis & Kappes, Indianapolis.
Kitchell said that out of the six proposals they received, there are multiple proposals which meet the criteria set by LMU. Their next meeting will be held April 26 via telephone. At this point, Mayor Kitchell states, they are on schedule and should have a recommendation for the council and board to consider late this summer.
Among the submitters for the Logansport Municipal Utilities’ PPA are the Indiana Municipal Power Agency, Duke Energy, Southern Energy, Kenergy and Morgan Stanley.
