COUNCIL MEMBERS HOLD TOWN MEETING

Three members of the Logansport City Council hosted a community meeting last night where they provided an update on their first three months in office. About half a dozen people, including councilman Larry Hood, attended last night’s meeting, which was organized by First Ward Council representative Dave Morris and at-large representatives Kevin Burkett and Terry Doran. Much of the discussion focused on sidewalks. The council has allocated funds for the matching program that helps residents replace their sidewalks. Council members also indicated that while they have ambitious plans, their progress on those plans is limited by funding. They said the general fund decreased by 3 million dollars from 2012 to 2015. The council members plan to hold a Ward 1 Community Meeting quarterly to share information and take questions from constituents.
