KEWANNA WOMAN WILL HAND GLASS OF MILK TO INDY 500 WINNER

A Kewanna woman will play an exciting role in the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 29th.
Janet Dague, who helps run the family owned Dague Dairy Farm in Kewanna, has been chosen to hand over the traditional glass of milk to the winner of this year’s 500 race. Dague told us her position on the American Dairy Association’s Indiana Board of Directors facilitated the unique opportunity. Dague has served on the board for two years. The person who hands the glass of milk to the Indy 500 winner is traditionally someone associated with the Dairy Association Board. This year, Dague tells us, they also plan to distribute 100,000 pints of milk to race fans at the beginning of the race, which folks will hopefully hold onto until the conclusion of the race and then drink in celebration along with the winner.
Dague married into the dairy farming life when she wed husband Andrew Dague in 1994 and began helping with the family run dairy farm. The Dague family has owned the farm since 1960. Their three children Adrianna, Aubrey, and Austin also help with the operation and are very excited to be attending this year’s Indy 500 with their parents. Janet told us she and Andrew have been going to the race for 21 years. The 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 is Sunday, May 29th. Drivers will start their engines at 12:14 PM.
