Drug Testing at Logansport Memorial Hospital
Logansport Memorial Hospital has started to administer random drug tests to a percentage of its employees each month, the hospital’s CEO said recently. Perry Gay, president and CEO of the hospital, told members of the hospital’s board of directors that the hospital had begun administering drug tests to 5 to 10 percent of its employees each month, a policy that was implemented in June. The list of employees tested each month is generated randomly by computer at the hospital’s occupational health clinic, Healthy Companies. Gay said employees had been very cooperative, adding he believed they wanted a drug-free workplace every bit as much as hospital administrators did.
