FREE CITY BUS BEGINS SEPT 1, 2015

A new free city bus service is scheduled to begin tomorrow (Sept 1) in Logansport. It’s a three month trial that’s a partnership between Cass Area Transit and the City of Logansport. The city council has given preliminary approval to provide $10,000 to fund the program, which will cover the cost of up to 5,000 rides, making the service free to riders during the months of September, October and November.

The bus will make 9 stops Monday through Friday within the City of Logansport, beginning at 8 a.m. at Memorial Hospital. Additional stops include Marsh Supermarket on 3rd Street, Jerry’s Pizza on West Market, Fairview Park, Marsh Supermarket at 14th Street, Dollar General in Eastgate Plaza, Martin’s Supermarket, Walmart and 5th and Broadway in downtown Logansport.

The route will not operate from noon to 1 p.m. Walmart will be the last stop mid-day, at 11:39 a.m. The route will resume at Logansport Memorial Hospital at 1 p.m.

Cass Transit’s regular call-in pickup and dropoff service will still be available as well. You can find the schedule for the city bus on our website at Indianasbestradio.com.
