IVY TECH CHOSEN FOR AUTOMOTIVE PILOT PROGRAM

Ivy Tech Community College’s Automotive Technology Institute on the Kokomo Campus will serve as one of 11 pilot programs for a new national training effort aimed at developing the stream of highly trained technicians needed for FCA US LLC dealers nationwide. The chancellor of Ivy Tech’s Kokomo and Lafayette region says the additional training will lead to certified technicians ready to fill service jobs for Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram dealers throughout the United States. The corporation has a goal of adding more than 5,500 additional skilled service technicians by 2018.”

Twelve Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealerships in Indiana have signed on to support the program at Ivy Tech Kokomo, including Mike Anderson in Logansport.

Under the agreement, Ivy Tech Kokomo will begin offering the Mopar CAP LOCAL modules this fall to students in the Automotive Technology program.
