Byrd Resigns

A member of the Logansport Redevelopment Commission has resigned after questions regarding her residency compromised the legality of her participation. Indiana Code states members of redevelopment commissions in the state “must be a resident of the unit that he serves.” Vicki Byrd said yesterday, that she resigned from the Logansport Redevelopment Commission because she lives outside the city’s corporate limits. Three of Logansport’s redevelopment commission members are appointed by the mayor while the remaining two are appointed by city council. Byrd was a city council appointment.
