Man faces serious charges

Ryan Scott Eckiss, 26, A Logansport man is facing numerous charges, including rape, after being arrested on Friday, July 1, after a woman reported to a neighbor she had been strangled by Eckiss, Logansport Police Lt. A.J. Rozzi said. Rozzi said the neighbor then called 911. When Patrolman Eric Smith arrived on the scene, Rozzi said the victim was visibly distraught and had bruises on several parts of her body. Rozzi said the victim told officers that she was choked and that Eckiss forced her to have sexual intercourse. She was transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital and later to St. Elizabeth Franciscan Health, where a sexual assault kit was conducted. Eckiss was arrested at the scene, Rozzi said.
