A teenager is recovering after nearly drowning in Cass County last week, his father says.
Brandon Kinser Jr., 16, was swimming in a private pond June 28 at a baseball awards banquet near Hoover when he started struggling to stay above water. His father, Brandon Kinser Sr., said his son’s friend and classmate, Dakota Andrade, along with their baseball coach, Blake Mollenkopf, found him underwater before getting him to a boat that brought him to shore. Brandon Kinser Sr. went on to say Tim Cowell and Steve Sutton performed CPR on his son, who had gotten water in his lungs, before he was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
