Nelson Becker Named Bicentennial Citizen of the Week

A former Speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives is this week’s recipient of a special Logansport award. Nelson Becker, who served for several years as the District 24 representative in the Indiana House, has been named the Bicentennial Citizen of the Week. Becker, a Logansport attorney, never lost an election, stepping down after the 1984 general election to focus on his family and his practice. The Becker family has also been active in many local causes, including the Cass County Family Y. The award is presented throughout Indiana’s bicentennial year to recognize local natives or residents who have been recognized statewide or nationwide for their contributions.
