Rochester Man Injured In Target Shooting Incident
An accidental shooting has injured a man from Rochester. Police say 36 year-old Christopher Gualtieri was participating in target practice on Sunday while using an explosive called tannerite. It’s a popular substance used by shooters and can make a very loud boom. Gualtieri had placed the substance inside an old appliance, but when it exploded, it sent shrapnel toward him. A press release from the Fulton County Sheriff says Gualtieri was critically injured and eventually airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital. The sheriff says using tannerite is not illegal, but that extreme caution should be exercised in using it.
