Peru Man Accused of Driving To Meet Young Girl For Sex

A Peru man is jailed in Rochester after police say he traveled to Rochester to meet with a 13 year-old girl for sex. 29 year-old Daniel Wegner is being held in jail for attempted child molestation, child solicitation, and other charges. The Fulton County Sheriff says a parent contacted them earlier this month, saying that Wegner had been talking to her young daughter online and even after being told the girl’s age, Wegner continued having sexually charged conversations with her. A detective then took over the conversations, acting as the girl. Wegner allegedly agreed to drive to a hotel in Rochester to meet the girl, but it turned out, undercover detectives were waiting for him. He’s being held on 75-thousand dollars bond.
