Water Advisory On Tippecanoe River
Indiana environmental officials are asking people to stay away from the Tippecanoe River in the Winamac area as they investigate a sheen on the water. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said early Saturday that the 4 mile-long sheen was reported Friday in the river in Pulaski County. They say it’s been contained and is being cleaned. However they’re asking residents, fishermen, boaters, Tippecanoe River State Park visitors and Winamac festival attendees to avoid using the river downstream of the state park until further notice.
