Damage Reported From Sunday Storm

Damage reports are coming in after Sunday night’s storms. Cass County Emergency Management Director Alvin Beckman told the Pharos-Tribune that the storm brought high winds, large hail and torrential rain to the southern portion of the county. Dispatchers even got several reports of a funnel cloud or short lived tornado. At least two homes were damaged by falling trees. Beckman decided to sound the sirens Sunday night, despite no tornado warning being issued by the National Weather Service. The storm also produced severe thunderstorm warnings in Grant and Miami Counties after moving away from Cass County.
