Historical Marker To Honor Carousel

The city of Logansport has dedicated a special historical marker at the Dentzel Carousel. The carousel is registered as a National Historic Landmark and was featured in this past weekend’s big Festival over two days. The marker is at the northwest side of the carousel building and commemorates the history of the carousel and the man who built it, Gistav Dentzel. Mayor Dave Kitchell said there will also be more plaques displayed in the carousel building. One will honor Marr McGrath, who designed and built the sign on the east side of the carousel complex. McGrath recently died in a car crash in New Jersey.
