City May Not Add Trash Fee… Yet

The fee for trash pickup in Logansport may not be added after all. There has been no charge for trash service for the last couple years after the city council dropped the fee. Back then, the city said they could get by with the service by using property tax money and landfill tipping fees. But a few weeks ago, it was brought up that doing it this way is losing money. However, the fund that the city uses for trash services still has about 2-million dollars in it, according to one council member. But starting next year, Councilman Dave Morris said city residents should expect to begin paying some sort of nominal monthly fee. Something around 10 bucks, he says.
