Clark is Mayor’s Choice winner at art show

Dozens of local students will have artwork on display at the annual Youth Art Show which runs through April 1.
Included in the exhibition are several award winners. Logansport Mayor Dave Kitchell selected a chalk drawing by Brandi Clark as his Mayor’s Choice Award winner. Clark is a seventh-grader at Columbia Middle School. Her work features a close-up view of a cat’s eyes.

“Judging the best work out of so many terrific entries is a difficult task for anyone who is a judge in this show,” Kitchell said. “We truly have many talented students in our community, and this show makes you appreciate the contributions our fine arts faculty make every day in our schools.”

The show is sponsored by the Logansport Art Association which will host a reception from 1-4 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday and on April 1. Admission is free.

Many students who have works in the show have been recognized for their work with ribbons.
