Spring Break is traditionally a time when college students either head for warm weather or look for summer employment.
For those looking for internships, Logansport area students who attend Purdue may qualify for the Interns for Indiana Program. The program offers part-time summer employment through a mutual selection process. Purdue will assist companies in selecting students who have an entrepreneurial background. The students may contribute in product development, research, process improvement and other company operations.
Qualifying students must have a cumulative 2.8 grade point average or higher. The deadline for applications is April 1. Interviews will be conducted next month. Internships will run from May 15 through Aug. 7 and will involve between 30 and 40 hours of paid experience weekly.
Students in the program can enroll in a non-credit course that fulfills a capstone requirement for a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. More information is available by contacting Aimee Griggs at the Purdue Office of Professional Practice, (765) 496-1054, or online at aimgrigg@purdue.edu.
The city of Logansport also will again offer internship funding to local businesses and industries through the Cass-Logansport Economic Development Organization. Information is available by contacting Bill Cuppy at the CLEDO office, 722-5988.
