FEDERAL INDICTMENT FOR LOGANSPORT MAN
A Logansport man has been federally indicted on one charge of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Cass County Prosecuting Attorney Lisa Swaim says court documents indicate that on March 23, officers with the Cass County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a home on Logansport Road as part of a 911 call. Upon arrival, they made contact with the caller and 30 year old Wade Erdahl Jr of Logansport. Deputies determined an active protective order was in place between the caller and Erdahl due to a previous charge of domestic battery and say Erdahl was aware of the order. During a search, a small handgun and drug paraphernalia were allegedly located on Erdahl. A press release from the prosecutor's office states that the caller also described a violent attack by Erdahl. Court records indicate that Erdahl is currently charged with invasion of privacy, strangulation, domestic battery and possession of paraphernalia in Cass County Superior Court 2.Court records also indicate that he has previously been convicted of theft and forgery in Marion County and failure to register as a sex offender in Pulaski County. He is currently registered as a sexually violent predator with a Logansport address based on two separate convictions for sexual assault. Swaim says the arrest is the result of a joint prosecution effort between the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Cass County Prosecutor's Office.
