MAN WANTED FOR ESCAPING HOME DETENTION

A former Miami County surgeon arrested last summer on an attempted murder charge is now a fugitive wanted for escaping home detention. The Miami County Sheriff’s Department says 49 year old Gregory Konrath forcibly removed his tracking device and fled the area around 6 p.m. last night. He’s believed to be operating a 2013 silver 4 door Chevrolet Captiva SUV with Indiana license plate WJE 795. He was initially arrested for attempted murder by the Miami County Sheriff’s Department on July 8, after investigators discovered he had allegedly discussed a plot to murder his ex-wife and taken substantial steps toward completion of the murder. He was later charged with two counts of stalking in addition to the attempted murder charge, but the attempted murder charge was dropped because of an Indiana statute. Konrath was placed on in-home detention on April 14 after entering a plea agreement. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Gregory Konrath is asked to contact their nearest law enforcement agency or the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
