PARTICIPATE IN BIKE TO WORK DAY MAY 15

On Friday, May 15, the Cass County Family Y will host an event to get businesses and individuals active on the way to work. National Bike to Work Day is an annual event across the United States and Canada that promotes the bicycle as an option for commuting to work. Groups across the country encourage people to try bicycle commuting as a healthy and safe alternative. Nicole Echols with the Cass County Family Y explains how this event is important and how businesses can register by phone or fill out a registration form.

“They can register by calling the Y and just giving us their business name, address, phone and a contract person. They can drop it off in person at the Y or they can fax it to us. The deadline is Thursday night at 9 p.m."

On Friday, the Y asks businesses that are participating to take a group picture…

"We are just asking them, once they arrive at work on their bikes, to take a pic maybe in front of their company's sign something like that indicating where they're from and post it on social media, either on Facebook or Twitter and tag the Y in it, and then how many people participated. The one who has the most participants will win a free Kuns' deli lunch tray."

Business wanting to participate in this years event, can call the Cass County Family Y at 574-753-5141 or fax their registration forms to 574-735-2905
