ROCHESTER MAN KILLED IN MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

A 24 year old Rochester man was killed early Saturday morning in a single vehicle crash on US 31 near Miami County road 1200 North. The Indiana State Police say preliminary investigation revealed that Phillip Nicklaus was northbound on a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle around 1:15 Saturday morning when he applied the brakes for an unknown reason. The bike slid onto its side and Nicklaus was ejected from the motorcycle. State Police say he was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene of injuries sustained in the crash. Investigation into the incident continues.
