PUBLIC ED DONATION ON TAXES

State Rep. Tim Harman, a Republican from Bremen has announced that Hoosiers can now make a donation to Indiana’s public schools when filing this year’s taxes. Using the Schedule 5 Credit/Donation Form, Hoosiers can donate to any public K-12 school in Indiana. Harman, who represents all of Marshall County and a large portion of Fulton County, wrote the law establishing the donation option and said Hoosiers can find the donation area listed under “Public K-12 Education Fund” on their 2016 tax forms.

Hoosiers can donate directly to the K-12 public education fund, but the money cannot be designated to a specific school in Indiana.
