NEW LOGAN SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER NAMED

The leader of the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce and CLEDO was selected to fill the remaining term on the Logansport School Board. Jeff Smith resigned earlier this month. Five candidates applied to fill the vacancy and were interviewed by the board in a work session on February 2. The board nominated Bill Cuppy for the position.

Cuppy said developing and promoting the workforce development is critical to the enhancement of our community and economic health going forward for many generations to come, and he’s excited to have the opportunity.

The candidates who applied for the position in addition to Cuppy were Bob Ehle, Matt Meagher, Matthew Snoeberger and Cory Howard.

“All of the candidates did a great job and the board felt that they all would have been good, but in the end they felt that Bill’s business connections, knowledge of legislative actions and history would work best,” Superintendent Michele Starkey said. “They said it was a tough decision and were very happy with the number and quality of candidates that applied.”
