FORMER I.U.K. CHANCELLOR GIFTS $3.5 MILLION FOR SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Former Indiana University Kokomo Chancellor Emerita Ruth J. Person has committed to giving IUK $3.5 million for student scholarships – the largest gift ever to the campus. Person, who served as the fourth chancellor from 1999 to 2008, has named the fund the RMJ Scholars Program – honoring three women who believed strongly in the value of education. Florence Richardson McGee, Ruth Person’s godmother; Ruth Mahoney Janssen, her mother; and Ruth Janssen Person. The goal is to promote student success and four-year graduation of the recipients.
