The Kairos Prison Ministry Organization recently donated 1,949 hours of their time to the Miami Correctional Facility (MCF) in Bunker Hill during a 4-day weekend event.
Kairos Prison Ministry is a Christian faith-based ministry which addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated individuals. Specially trained Kairos members met with 36 selected offenders in intensive pro-social character and behavior lessons.
Attendees included program participants, Kairos volunteers, past offender graduates of the Kairos program and outside guests. It is during the closing ceremony that offenders tell the audience, through powerful testimonies, how the program positively impacted them.
Superintendent Kathy Griffin praised the Kairos volunteers for their dedication and willingness to devote their time to providing this outstanding religious program that facilitates positive change within the prison community. This is the 17th time the program has been held at MCF.
