STATE THEATER ANNOUNCES NON-PROFIT STATUS
The State Theater has announced its official new status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity organization - The State Theater Preservation Society. The theater is now ready to begin the process of raising funds to continue to preserve and restore the State Theater. The theater is listed on the Indiana and National Registers of Historic Places as part of the Courthouse Square Historic District, and it celebrated its 75th year in operation in June 2015. The theater’s new website states that "The State Theater Preservation Society is committed to providing local and regional artists with not only a spectacular space in which to perform, but educational offerings aimed at inspiring and nurturing our region’s rich artistic community."
