SUSPECT IDENTIFIED IN MONTICELLO ARMED ROBBERY

Officers have identified a suspect they believe to have been involved with an armed robbery that took place at a Monticello gas station early Sunday morning.At about 9:37 a.m., the White County Communications Center received a 911 call about an armed robbery that had just occurred at the gas station located at 843 N. Main St. in Monticello. The robber allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left the area in a red Ford Explorer heading west. In conjunction with citizen tips, Monticello Police Officers identified the suspect vehicle used in the robbery, and then were able to locate a suspect during a traffic stop around 7:30 pm yesterday. 41 year-old Jeremy A. Terry was arrested for Level 3 Felony Robbery and is currently being held in the White County Jail on a $30,000 bond. Other individuals have been interviewed in the case. The Monticello Police Department says local citizens partnering with law enforcement and providing valuable information helped bring the case to a swift conclusion.
