NEW STAMP ISSUED AS PART OF INDIANA'S BICENTENNIAL
A new stamp honoring Indiana’s Bicentennial is set to be issued by the U.S. Postal Service. The image on the stamp was taken by 25-year-old Milford native Michael Matti and shows clouds streaming above a cornfield at sunset in northern Indiana’s Kosciusko County. The Postal Service will host a stamp dedication ceremony Tuesday at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis where the stamp will be available for purchase to those attending. The Indiana Bicentennial Commission says the stamp is expected to be available Wednesday at post offices statewide. Indiana is celebrating the 200th anniversary of its statehood all year long, as Indiana became the nation’s 19th state on December 11, 1816.
