CITY COUNCIL APPROVES $25,000 IN RAINY DAY FUNDS FOR POOL REPAIRS

Last night the Logansport City Council voted unanimously to put $25,000 in rainy day funds towards repair of the pool at Muehlhausen Park & Aquatic Center. The first priority for repairs was the womens’ shower room floor and drainage. Steinburger construction has already been addressing that situation over the past week. Problems that still need to be addressed include a booster pump for the splash pad and electricity to the bathhouse. A health inspection for the pool is scheduled for June 15th. The facility must pass that inspection before it can open. The community is still invited to enjoy the splash pad, which is open from 8 AM - 10 PM every day.

At the meeting last night,  Deputy Mayor Mercedes Brugh informed the city council that the Indiana Department of Transportation has denied the city's request to assist with unexpected costs associated with the construction project at the intersection of 18th and Main Streets. Those costs now total more than $300,000.
