POOL PROJECT MOVING ALONG

Randy Miller, with Randall Miller & Associates, joined us yesterday on Talk of the Town with an update on the Tower Park Pool Project. He says the pool’s liner will be installed soon.

"The liner is the last big key element. The liner will go in, it will take anywhere from 5 to 6 to 7 days. Then we fill the water in the pool because we have to we have to get it stabilized, we have to test the plumbing system and all the pumps and all that kind of thing, and make sure everything works just right, get it to where it’s balanced. All of the personnel who are going to work there have to be trained, because there’s a very intense training and maintenance schedule that they have to meet. It’s very important that they understand how to maintain it and they have to be certified."

"The big thing that that’s left is getting that liner installed, getting the water in there,
getting everything balanced, getting it operational for a week or so, the splash pad. Now it’ll probably be cold water, but we have to do it because we have to see if the system, we have to make those adjustments on the system. Next year we will hit the ground running, but we will be up and functioning here very, very soon."

Officials had hoped to open the pool in August but say the weather and the age of the structure they’re trying to rehab caused unexpected delays.
