Cass County Conducts Delinquent Property Tax Sale

The city of Logansport held its annual tax sale last weekend. Properties that are delinquent in taxes are put up for sale to the highest bidder. 101 parcels of land were sold to 10 buyers. County Auditor Vaneen Ide reported that more than 270 owners who were previously delinquent in taxes, paid their debt off before the sale. That generated almost a half million dollars in revenue for the county. Buyers who assumed ownership of a delinquent property are given one year to pay off the debt from the previous owner.
