LOGANSPORT HS OPENS ART GALLERY

BY SETH TOCCO FOR MID-AMERICA RADIO GROUP OF LOGANSPORT

Logansport High School will be hosting an open house tonight (March 18) revealing their new art gallery for student work to be displayed. The gallery is located near the Library of  Logansport High School. Principal Matt Jones explains how this long process is finally a reality.

"The Cass County Community Foundation had a grant for $20,000 that we received. We had applied for it and received it. Our art department crew wrote the grant and we were awarded it last year, so we're really thankful to the Cass County Community Foundation.

The new gallery not only will be used for student work, but also alumni.

"It's going to be a wonderful space for our students to display their work in a professional gallery. It's something that not only the students and staff can be proud of, but also our alumni, as we've had many talented artists that have graduated from LHS. We see the gallery as also an opportunity for those alumni to display some of their works of art.

Bryan Hole, Art teacher at Logansport High School, is excited to use the new gallery and is even planning some future events...

"It's pretty exciting. It's a really great opportunity for our art students. We're really grateful for being able to receive the grant and it's going to be beneficial for our program and I think for the entire community.

The open house is from 6-7:30 p.m. tonight at Logansport High School.
